Laura and I spent a lot of time planning our wedding. A lot of time. And we made sure that it felt like "us" rather than upholding wedding traditions we didn't believe in. We didn't have any groomsmen or bridesmaids, no tossing of the bouquet, and no "Chicken Dance." But we did leave for a honeymoon a few days after the wedding. We had a lot of help with the planning and arrangements so that when we arrived in Bangkok after 27 hours of travel all we had to do was soak up 2 weeks of new experiences and enjoy our new lives together.
Bangkok is a beautiful and eternal city but much more than we expected while trying to recover from jet lag. From there, the trip took on a more and more relaxed pace as we drove to Chiang Mai (with unforgettable stops in Ayutthaya and Sukhothai) before flying down to Koh Lanta for the "sitting by the pool and strolling along the beach portion of the trip.
